Since 1999, the Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) has consistently produced the Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket (BNNB) as a tool for promoting social justice through evidence-based advocacy on the cost of living in Zambia. The BNNB tracks the cost of essential goods and services necessary for a family of five to live a decent and dignified life, thereby informing public policy and economic planning.
This archive hosts monthly BNNB reports published over the years, offering a comprehensive record of trends in household costs and socio-economic conditions across various towns in Zambia. Researchers, policy makers, civil society actors, and the general public are encouraged to make use of this valuable resource.
Each year’s reports are compiled in ZIP folders for ease of access and download. Kindly select the year of interest below to download the corresponding files.
