The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) has been recognised among the 100 Think Tanks to Watch 2025 by On Think Tanks (OTT) — a global initiative that celebrates think tanks making meaningful contributions to evidence-based policy, governance, and social transformation across the world.

The 100 Think Tanks to Watch list is based on peer recognition and highlights organisations whose work demonstrates innovation, relevance, and impact in addressing pressing social and economic issues. The 2025 list, compiled through OTT’s State of the Sector Survey and the OTT Conference 2025, showcases institutions whose approaches are shaping the future of policy research and public engagement.

JCTR’s inclusion reflects its continued commitment to social justice and transformative research through initiatives such as:

• Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket (BNNB) Analysis – A monthly survey tracking the cost of living in Zambia, providing reliable data that informs public debate, policy advocacy, and citizens’ awareness of socio-economic realities.
• Social Accountability Interventions – Community-led monitoring processes that strengthen citizen engagement, transparency, and accountability in the management of public resources.
• Public Finance Management (PFM) Advocacy – Evidence-based research and stakeholder engagement promoting transparent, equitable, and accountable utilisation of national resources for the common good.

Fr. Daniel Mwamba Mutale, S.J., PhD, Executive Director of JCTR, shared his reflections on the recognition:
